Welcome to PyRe, an educational climate-reanalysis map builder. By using PyRe you agree to these terms.

What PyRe is

PyRe generates composite maps from publicly available climate-reanalysis datasets (NOAA NCEP/CPC CORe and related sources). It is provided free of charge for educational and research use.

Not for critical decisions

Maps and data presented by PyRe are derived from reanalysis datasets and are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. They are not forecasts and may contain errors, gaps, or processing artifacts. Do not use PyRe for safety-of-life decisions, operational forecasting, or any purpose where inaccurate data could cause harm.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the email address you register with and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be able to receive email at your registered address to recover your account. We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service.

Acceptable use

Don't do anything that interferes with the service for others, including automated scraping of rendered maps, bulk map generation, attempts to access other users' data, or attempts to circumvent access controls. PyRe is a small, free service — please be considerate of its resources.

Your content

Maps you save belong to you. The underlying reanalysis data is public-domain U.S. government data; maps you generate may be used freely, though we appreciate attribution to PyRe and the underlying NOAA datasets.

Availability

PyRe is a free, independently run project. We make no guarantee of uptime or continued availability, and features may change or be discontinued at any time. We may also delete inactive accounts or content after reasonable notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PyRe and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use PyRe (currently zero).

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
