Privacy Policy

PyRe ("we", "us") is an educational climate-reanalysis map builder. This policy describes what information we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
Without an account, PyRe collects no personal information. Map settings you choose are encoded in the page URL and stored only in your browser (localStorage) to remember preferences like layout and units. We use no advertising or analytics trackers.
With an account, we store:
- Your email address — used only to identify your account and, if you request it, to send password-reset links.
- Your name, if you sign in with Google and your Google profile provides one.
- Your saved content — the maps, projects, and folders you create, including rendered map images and the settings ("recipes") used to generate them.
How we use it
Your information is used solely to operate your account and library. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it lives
Account data and saved maps are stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider). The application is hosted on Render. If you sign in with Google, authentication is handled by Google; we receive only your email address and basic profile info, never your Google password.
Saved map images are private to your account. Sharing a map shares only its settings as a URL — never the image or any account information.
Cookies and local storage
PyRe uses browser localStorage to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences. We set no third-party or advertising cookies.
Your choices
You can delete individual saved maps, folders, or projects at any time from your library. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
Children
PyRe is intended for students, educators, and researchers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
